Si leggono gli strumenti dove sono depositati: camera di commercio, archivio comunale, atti consortili, delibere. Si parla con chi li ha scritti e con chi li subisce. Si fotografa.
The instruments are read where they are filed: chamber of commerce, municipal archive, consortium acts, resolutions. Conversations with those who wrote them and those who live under them. Photography.
Ogni affermazione causale diventa una previsione e si prova su dati pubblici: differenza-nelle-differenze, discontinuità, controllo sintetico. La sonda non decide; controlla se l’intuizione regge al primo contatto con i dati.
Every causal claim becomes a prediction and is tested against public data: difference-in-differences, discontinuity, synthetic control. The probe does not decide; it checks whether the intuition holds on first contact with the data.
